“MONUMENT HISTORY” is a book about the disintegration of memory. It’s a collective memoir of unknown people. Every person has a family, friends and relatives in spite of the unforgivable time which tends to erase their traces. The artist book was made from a postcard album which belonged to a woman a long time ago who loved to travel and left some mementos next to the postcards. But there were many handwritings and different periods of time because this album travelled itself a lot from person to person for a small amount of money. Does it mean that the woman’s memories, thoughts and dreams are worth just a few bucks? The postcards were ripped off from the album until none was left, just some thoughts which are fading away as the time goes on.

The album finally came into my hands and I tried to resurrect the woman’s memories and all the other persons who shared it, even mine.
